What to put on the invoice
Identify the job address or reference, stage of completion and materials supplied. A work order can carry site instructions; an invoice should identify the work being billed.

A practical document sequence
Estimate the job, confirm the scope, issue a work order and retain approval for changes. Transfer actual agreed charges into the invoice once the stage is billable.
A mistake to avoid
Do not silently bill a change that was absent from the accepted scope. This tool does not calculate construction-specific retention, reverse charges or statutory deductions.
