Record time against recognizable work
Add one entry for each task or day, including its date and a short description. Hours are decimal: thirty minutes is 0.5 hours, not 0.30. The total hours adds every entry; the billable value multiplies each row by its own rate.
Example: a short consulting week
Two hours of research and 3.5 hours of workshops total 5.5 hours. At 80 per hour the value is 440 before any adjustment. Leave rates at zero when you only need to record hours, and explain that choice in the notes.
Research | 2.00 hours × 80.00 Workshop | 3.50 hours × 80.00 Total: 5.50 hours / 440.00
Review before billing
The period-ending field helps group entries. Check dates and approved time with the customer before transferring the total to an invoice. This is a manual timesheet, not a running timer, payroll system or electronic approval service.
